Knapp ein halbes Jahr ist es her, dass ein Student unserer Uni von zwei Jugendlichen angegriffen wurde. Der Student wurde mithilfe Eisenstangen einer naheliegenden Baustelle bewusstlos geschlagen und schwer verletzt zurückgelassen. Die Tat war homofeindlich motiviert, da der Student nach aussagen der Täter "schwul" getanzt hätte. Zeug*innen zu dieser Tat schritten nicht ein. Nach angaben der Pressestelle der Polizei erfur diese erst 36 Stunden nach der Tat von dem Vorfall.
Dieses verhalten ist schwerstens zu verurteilen, da diese unterlassene Hilfeleistung im schlimmsten Fall tödlich verlaufen hätte können.
Dass dies problemlos in der Öffentlichkeit passieren konnte, lässt uns realisieren, dass der Kampf gegen strukturelle queerfeindliche Gewalt noch einen weiten Weg vor sich hat.
AStA Vorstand Viktoria Ehrke schätzt die aktuelle Situation wie folgt ein:
"Queerfeindliche Angriffe sollten nicht als unglückliche Einzelfälle behandelt werden. Sie sind immer auch das Produkt von internalisierten und strukturellen Hass. Dies gilt es gesellschaftlich als auch politisch zu realisieren und zu bekämpfen, denn ohne eine solche Erkentniss werden wir uns weiter nur von Vorfall zu Vorfall bewegen."
Wir als AStA stellen uns geschlossen gegen queerfeindliche Gewalt jeglicher Art. Wir stehen solidarisch zu diesen und allen anderen Opfern von Gewalt.
Als AStA Marburg werden wir bei den prozessbegleitenden Kundgebungen der Rosa Liste am Freitag den 24.02 um 9 Uhr vor dem Landgericht in Marburg teilnehmen und uns solidarisch zeigen.
Press release on the homophobic attack in June 2022
It is almost half a year ago that a student of our university was attacked by two youths. The student was beaten unconscious with iron bars from a nearby construction site and left seriously injured. The act was homophobically motivated, as the student had danced "gay" according to the perpetrators. Witnesses to this act did not intervene. According to the police press office, they only learned of the incident 36 hours after the crime.
This behavior is to be condemned most seriously, since this omitted assistance could have run in the worst case fatally.
The fact that this could have happened in public without any problems makes us realize that the fight against structural queer-hostile violence still has a long way to go.
AStA board member Viktoria Ehrke assesses the current situation as follows:
"Queerphobic attacks should not be treated as unfortunate individual cases. They are always also the product of internalized and structural hatred. This needs to be realized and fought socially as well as politically, because without such a realization we will continue to just move from incident to incident."
We as AStA stand united against queer-hostile violence of any kind. We stand in solidarity with these and all other victims of violence.
As AStA Marburg we will take part in the trial-accompanying rallies of the Rosa Liste on Friday the 24.02 at 9 o'clock in front of the district court in Marburg and show our solidarity.
