The executive board, consisting of at least two people in the finance board and the general executive board, must have at least equal representation of women* and is elected annually by the student parliament. It represents the policies of the AStA externally, e.g. in the committees of the University such as the Senate and the University Conference, towards the city, the Studentenwerk [sic] or the press. Within the AStA, he or she coordinates the work of the offices, permanent staff and all other people involved in the AStA. Furthermore, it is in contact with the student councils and the autonomous departments. The Executive Board can be the point of contact for students who want to get involved in student self-administration or who want to make use of the AStA's services.
The financial board prepares the budget of the student body, which must then be passed by the student parliament. It administers the financial resources to enable the work of the departments, the student councils and the autonomous departments as well as to finance the services of the AStA (legal, social, hardship and technical advice). Student initiatives can also apply for funding from the AStA.
